SOME OTHER FUN ONES

A handful of projects that are fun, but don’t need entire case studies to themselves.

Sioux Falls Canaries Rebrand

In 2010, the Sioux Falls Canaries' ownership group made the terrible decision to change the team’s name to “The Fighting Pheasants.”

After some righteous public outcry, the name was changed back to “The Canaries” for the 2013 season.

Fresh Produce was tasked with re-rebranding the team, and announcing the name change to the public. We started with this video about baseball that I wrote.

NVC Television Campaign

We talked to some really imaginative kids to try to get our heads around this phone, cable, and internet deal from NVC.

I worked on the creative direction and wrote the scripts.

Sands Drywall Anniversary Video

Fresh Produce helped Sands Drywall celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary with this internal video.

We interviewed the owners, and then shot “dramatic” reenactments inspired by those conversations, starring members of the Sands Drywall team.

I conducted the interviews, co-directed the reenactments, and crafted the narrative for our video editor.

Profile by Sanford

Profile by Sanford is a nationally franchised personalized health and nutrition program. In 2018, they hosted their annual coach and franchisee conference in Sioux Falls.

They asked Fresh Produce to produce an opening to the event that would "hype up" the crowd. We started with a "behind the scenes" video about the event's fictional producer (actor and comedian Nick Luciano) struggling to put together the show. I wrote and co-directed it.

Avera Cancer Center Television Campaign

No one wants to talk about cancer, even though nearly half of us will receive a cancer diagnosis at some point in our lives. The "Just Say the Word" campaign was designed to start conversations about cancer, beginning with just saying the word itself.

I worked on the creative direction, and wrote the scripts. These won a national Healthcare Advertising award several years ago, but I just heard about it pretty recently.

Semi-Professional, Non-Speaking

Acting Reel

When we first started dating, my wife and I entertained ourselves by auditioning for minor acting roles in local television spots. I made this “acting” reel to make her laugh.

It was my first attempt at video editing of any kind, and I didn't know what I was doing, so I intentionally made it all look bad to cover up the things I didn't know how to not make look bad.

The year was 2012. I was young, and I was hungry (for attention).
